What is the DiabloSport Predator?

The DiabloSport Predator is a state-of-the art, high performance tuning flash programmer in a sleek handheld design. Once connected to the vehicle, the Predators internal computer recognizes the vehicles PCM and automatically picks the proper tuning files designed specifically for that PCM. Inside the Predator's memory are the actual tuning files that optimize spark timing and air/fuel ratio curves giving your vehicle up to 3 MPG improved fuel economy. The transmission parameters are remapped to improve the shift characteristics such as shift firmness and shift points.

Unlike other 'tuners', DiabloSport's programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery. DiabloSport engineers spend many hours on the dyno, street and track to ensure the tunes provided with the Predator are the best they can be.

RPM does understands that not every vehicle is identical and that vehicles with certain custom modifications require special attention. The DiabloSport Predator and DiabloSport TRINITY programmer contains tunes designed for stock and mild bolt-on modified vehicles. They have a limited amount of user adjustably that allows users to help dial-in A/F ratio, spark, etc. Some feature selections also allow for MAF and injector changes, but can run into complications due to subtle variances in vehicle configuration. A custom tune by RPM will allow the tuner/programmer complete adjustably of about 1000 to 3000 different variables (depending on the year/model) in the vehicles computer to accommodate for multiple modifications. This allows tunes to be created directly for a car's specific configuration, and is the only way to tune a heavily modified vehicle. An RPM custom tune allows you to start tuning your vehicle from a custom tune instead of the generic tune so the end tune result is more precise. These parameters allow you to optimize your tune for peak performance and also suit your driving style. This is now an excellent tool for custom DYNO tuning and data logging.

Diablo even took it even one step further and made tunes for the 1999 to 2000 trucks with the stock mass air meter as well as the larger 90mm mass air meter found on the 2001 and up Lightning trucks.
